Children’s Sunday School

Currently, Memorial has two Sunday School classes for children. Our preschool class, for children ages 3 to 5, focuses on the most important thing to know, that God loves us and created everything, while addressing school-readiness academic skills (letters, numbers, counting, colors, and shapes), fine motor skills (cutting, puzzles, and name-writing), and social-emotional skills (sharing, cooperation, and peer relationships). Our elementary class, for students ages 6 and older, begins to delve deeper into the Bible and reads scriptures each week, while making real-life connections into how to live a God-filled life everyday. Each week, our director of music meets with the children for a special music time, and the children share their music with the congregation once a month in worship.

Adult Bible Study (Sunday School)

Sundays Starting at 9:15 am

A small group of adults gathers each Sunday to learn and discuss Bible passages. Readings are supplemented with videos and lead to spirited discussions regarding their meaning for us.

In October and November, we will be using the book Learning to Study The Bible.  This book will guide us as we study and reflect on the Bible.  We will learn to use biblical resources such as Bible dictionaries, commentaries and concordances to discover theological and historical connections of biblical text.  We will start with the question, what is the Bible?  As we progress through study we hope to answer, what does it mean for me?

The class meets at 9:15 am for an hour each Sunday morning in the lower level conference room.
