We invite you to check out all of the wonderful activities that Memorial has to offer for our youngest community members.
Memorial has two Sunday School classes:
Our preschool class, for children ages 3 to 5, focuses on the most important thing to know, that God loves us and created everything, while addressing school-readiness academic skills (letters, numbers, counting, colors, and shapes), fine motor skills (cutting, puzzles, and name-writing), and social-emotional skills (sharing, cooperation, and peer relationships).
Our elementary class, for students ages 6 and older, begins to delve deeper into the Bible and reads scriptures each week, while making real-life connections into how to live a God-filled life everyday.
Our newly formed Children's choir is complied of students from the churches youth Sunday School classes. The Children's choir sings popular hymns and songs that will help them grow as musicians in the eyes of God. We practice on Sunday's from 10-10:15 in the Sunday School room and perform during service on the first Sunday of every month. We will soon have a youth handbell choir for kids 7 years and older.
Children at Memorial are mission-oriented! We have organized service projects that benefit the global community (through Operation Christmas Child), United Methodist Children’s Services in Milwaukee, our church food pantry, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. This year, our children are organizing a brand-new mission to raise funds for and to install a Little Free Library on Morgan Avenue.
Vacation Bible School
During the summer of 2019, we resurrected Vacation Bible School! For three nights in July, adults and children came together for a construction-themed, fun-filled time to build futures with God, through learning about “tools” that God gives us to help ourselves and others. Plans are already underway for the summer of 2020!
